Our help is from the Lord who made heaven and earth. (Psalm 120)
The Lord’s parable of the unjust judge is one we must constantly keep in mind.
We can compare ourselves to small children, persistently nagging a parent for something
(which is probably what we sound like to God). Nag we must, though, because we have been encouraged by God. Implicit in our beseeching is God’s goodness; He answers all our needs but might delay only that a greater good might come.
In the meantime, we pray: for our loved ones, for world peace, for our beloved dead, for our young relatives, for our Pope, for the conversion of Russia, for our suffering world. The list goes on and on, but so does the world’s need for prayer: my prayer, your prayers, everyone’s prayer until the Son of Man comes, and yes! He will find faith, our faith, on earth, when He comes.
