Here I am, Lord! I come to do your will. (Psalm 39)
Today’s Gospel from John gives us another account of Jesus’ baptism. This is very important because the evangelist includes the statement by John the Baptist: “Look, there is the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world…”
St. John was a disciple of John the Baptist before he met Jesus. For this reason, we treasure and savour every word he wrote about both these individuals. John the Baptist emphatically declares Jesus as the Chosen One of God, and himself as a witness to this theophany.
