The hand of the Lord feeds us; he answers all our needs. (Psalm 144)
Today’s readings describe God’s gracious, merciful love, but none more so than the Gospel.
When Jesus feeds the five thousand, to say nothing of the women and children, with five loaves and two fish, this is God’s love in action.
We participate in this miracle each time we receive the Blessed Eucharist, but we receive much more than miraculously multiplied loaves and fish. Our Eucharist is the Author of the miracle himself: body, blood, soul and divinity.
Lord, I believe you are truly present in the Eucharist.
Lord, increase my faith and my love.
